This Privacy Policy outlines the practices of Freddie Moore ("we," "us," or "our") concerning the mobile application "TravelRate" (the "App").

We have a fundamental commitment to user privacy. Our App is designed to provide currency exchange information with your privacy as our highest priority. This policy explains our principles in straightforward terms.

2. Our Core Principle: We Do Not Collect Your Personal Data

The TravelRate App is built to function without collecting, storing, transmitting, or processing any of your personal data.

No User Accounts

We do not require you to register for an account or provide any personal information to use the App.

No Automated Data Collection

The App does not use any analytics software, advertising networks, tracking technologies, or crash reporting tools. We do not automatically collect information such as your IP address, device identifiers, location, or usage patterns. The App functions anonymously.

No Cookies

The App does not use cookies, web beacons, or similar tracking technologies.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

While we do not collect or transmit your personal data, the App does store certain information locally on your device to enhance functionality:

• Currency Preferences: Your selected base and target currencies
• Favorite Currency Pairs: Currency pairs you've marked as favorites
• Cached Exchange Rates: Recent exchange rates for offline use
• App Settings: Theme preferences (light/dark mode) and display options

This data:

• Remains exclusively on your device
• Is never transmitted to us or any third party
• Can be deleted by uninstalling the App
• Is not backed up to cloud services unless you have enabled device-level backups (iCloud)

Offline Mode

The App caches exchange rates locally to function without an internet connection. These cached rates are stored only on your device and are automatically updated when you're online.

4. Information You Voluntarily Provide

There is a single, specific circumstance under which we may come into possession of your personal data:

Contacting Us for Support

If you choose to contact us for support via the email link provided within the App, you will be sending us information voluntarily. This information will include, at a minimum, your email address and any other data you choose to include in your message (such as your name, the nature of your query, etc.).

Our handling of this data is governed by the following principles:

• Purpose Limitation: We will use this information for the sole purpose of responding to your specific support inquiry.
• Data Minimisation: We will not ask for any information beyond what is necessary to resolve your issue.
• No Third-Party Sharing: We will never share the information from your support correspondence with any third party.

• Data Retention: Support email correspondence is retained for up to 12 months for record-keeping purposes, after which it is permanently deleted.

Exchange Rate Data

The App retrieves currency exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API (https://www.exchangerate-api.com/). When the App fetches rates, your device's IP address may be logged by their servers as part of standard API request handling.

We do not control ExchangeRate-API's data practices. Their privacy policy and terms of service are available at: https://www.exchangerate-api.com/terms

Important: We do not transmit any personal information about you to this service. The API requests contain only the currency codes needed to retrieve exchange rates.

6. App Permissions

The App requests the following device permissions:

• Internet Access: Required to fetch current exchange rates from our third-party data provider
• Network State: Used to detect online/offline status for cached rate functionality and to display appropriate status indicators

The App does NOT request:

• Location access
• Camera or photo access
• Contacts access
• Microphone access
• Calendar or reminders access
• Any other device sensors or personal data

7. Data Security

While the App itself does not handle your personal data, we employ standard security practices to protect the integrity of the App:

• All communications between the App and our third-party data sources are secured using Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption
• The App does not store any credentials, passwords, or authentication tokens
• Local data storage uses iOS's standard secure storage mechanisms

8. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of consent in your jurisdiction). As the App does not collect personal data, we believe it is safe for all audiences.

If you believe we have inadvertently come into possession of information from a child through a support request, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.

9. Your Rights

Since we do not collect your personal data through the App, there is no data for you to access, correct, or delete from our systems.

Data Stored Locally

All data stored on your device can be deleted by clearing the App's cache in your device settings or uninstalling the App.

Support Correspondence

If you have contacted us for support and wish to have your email correspondence deleted, please email us at travelrate@proton.me with your request. We will delete your correspondence within 30 days.

10. Data Protection (UK GDPR)

For users in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area (EEA):

• Legal Basis: We do not process personal data through the App. Support correspondence is processed on the basis of legitimate interests (responding to your inquiry).
